Hilton Athletes
Hilton Primary’s Young Athletes
Hilton Primary’s goal is to teach the benefits of living a healthy, active life during the years at school and beyond.
We believe it is important for all children to experience the benefits of being a member of a team as well as being a solo competitor.
Children participate each year in a fun and enriching program based around a physical activity (subsidised by the school ) – such as orienteering skills. In the past, children have gone on to compete in the State Orienteering Championships.
Through sport, students develop a sense of achievement and pride in their efforts, as well as leadership and team skills essential to their future endeavours.
Hilton Primary’s aims to give every student the opportunity to participate in a variety of sports. Students at Hilton Primary discover cooperative games, improve sport-specific skill and experience team sports. They learn how to have fun, to win and lose, to show good sportsmanship, and to develop discipline and responsibility. The school has a number of very active and successful sports teams who complete within the school as well as in competitions with other schools in the local community.
Year 7 students enjoy a fantastic week (“Venture Week”) of adventure-based activities including such activities such as mini golf, an excursion to Hillarys water park and ice skating. This occurs in Term 4 and concludes the children’s primary school experience
